This past weekend saw the unveiling of some slick new imagery courtesy of Victor Castillo at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery. Entitled “Under Heavy Measures”, quite a lot of his images and sketches can be turned into cartoons as they are depicted.
Mr. Castillo frequently uses paper and canvas but he also sculpts and finger paints some of his creations. Part of the allure and draw of the show centered around the red sausage nose he paints onto his characters. Also it’s apparent the artist likes to use the art of juxtaposing as he has done with the his work below.
